The Vehicle
None of the drawings provided so far can give a true representation of what the VTOL aircraft will look like. For now, this is on purpose. The features and design of the base vehicle will be shared by all iterations including supersonic and they will be like nothing that has come before in aviation. Some of those features include:
- Flexible and unique wing design
- Flight control surfaces that are large and different from traditional aircraft
- Modular fuel tank system supporting propane – a cleaner burning bridge fuel to support climate change initiatives
- The use of propane injectors that can inject several million BTUs of heat energy
- A compact design that provides a major reduction in sonic boom through small size, weigh and low drag and much more. Fits into a single car garage.
- True but practical innovation. You’ll only have to wait a little bit longer to find out
Note that each vehicle has a second point of rear, high, wide and stabilizing lift that supplements the RamJamJet engine lift. It does not require any additional propulsion and all this lift is available a takeoff.
Subsonic Version
Supersonic Version
275 mph VTOL 4+ place
Mach 2 VTOL 6 place
For supersonic travel – all aircraft must employ the following and RamJamJets are no different.
- The area rule must be adhered to
- Flight control surfaces must be large and robust, especially elevators
- Wings must be thin and/or swept. This normally means that a trade off of poor slow speed performance is usually a requirement but not with RamJamJets
Although a traditional aircraft could take advantage of a RamJamJet engine, none are planned at this time.
